Shop the Mid Del Farmers’ Market for the best in fresh, locally grown and produced food, plants and more

At last week’s Saturday market we had watermelons, cantaloupes, peaches, nectarines, potatoes, onions, okra, tomatoes, peppers, squash, and eggplant among our farm-fresh, locally grown and produced food

We are working with American Heritage Family Farm, located in Ponca City, to put together a bulk order of whole Cornish rock broilers for $4 a pound for delivery sometime around the end of September or October. Each broiler will be in the range of 2.5 to 5 pounds.

American Heritage Family Farm is a family run business, created out of a love for the land, humane animal husbandry, sustainable practices, and a concern for a healthy local sustainable food supply. They use no “artificial anything” – no chemicals or hormones – and follow the practices of Mother Nature. Their COMPLETELY FREE RANGING Cornish Rock Broilers have a free choice buffet of grains to complement the goodies they find in the pastures. No soy or animal bi-products are included in the grains.

The broilers are processed in an Animal Welfare Approved, USDA, Silliker Certified family run processing facility. They are vacuum packed and will keep well in the freezer. They are air chilled (NOT dunked in chlorinated water like many processors).

If you are interested in purchasing one or several, please pick up an order form at the market’s Information Booth or email me at mdfma@live.com with your name, quantity of broilers, preferred weight range, and phone contact. I will take orders through Saturday, August 21, 2010.

Good News, Bad News

Greetings Mid Del Farmers’ Market Supporters!

I have a bit of good news and a bit of bad news.

Bad news: Om Gardens and Wagon Creek Creamery both notified us that they will not be able to continue participating in our outdoor market for the remainder of the 2010 season.

Good news: Om Gardens and Wagon Creek Creamery are both vendors of the Mid Del Farmers’ Market online market. You can order products from them, along with Cattle Tracks, John’s Farm, and Wichita Buffalo, and pick up your order on Saturday, August 7, at the Mid Del Farmers’ Market between 9:30am and 11:00am.

Remember to shop our outdoor market, at SE 29th and Mid America Blvd, for your farm fresh Oklahoma grown produce. We are seeing cantaloupes and watermelons, along with tomatoes, peppers, purple-hulled peas, and more, at both our Saturday morning market (8:00am-11:00am) and our Tuesday evening market (4:30pm-8:00pm). Stop in and get to know your Mid Del Farmers’ Market growers.

Thank you for being a supporter of the Mid Del Farmers’ Market!
